Mark Reader joined Rentokil Initial in October 2010 and is the Group Category Director. He leads the Category team with a multi-faceted agenda involving strategy, planning, product portfolio, new solution launch, events, campaigns and best practice across Rentokil Pest Control, Initial Hygiene and Ambius Plants & Premium Scenting.

Mark has been involved greatly in Rentokil’s innovative digital solution development, which includes PestConnect and myRentokil. He has also led RI's credibility build in key industry sectors, e.g. initiating the group wide Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) sponsorship approach, and working with colleagues across science and sales to further our presence in key areas.

Mark also works with the regional and country teams on longer-term planning, specifically growth options and marketing activities to help embed new thinking, understanding customer needs and identifying business efficiencies.

Mark started his career in retail operations working at Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Safeway in store management for nine years. Prior to Rentokil Initial he spent eleven years at BP, the third largest energy company, in several management roles across operations, marketing, strategy and supply chain. Mark has an MBA from Cranfield Business School (UK) and also attended Kellogg School of Management (USA).
