Ernesto Tanmantiong is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC), one of the world’s largest and fastest growing Asian food service companies with over 4,500 stores in 21 countries. JFC has 8 wholly-owned brands (Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, Red Ribbon, and Mang Inasal in the Philippines; Yonghe King and Hong Zhuang Yuan in China; and Smashburger in the USA), 2 franchised brands (Burger King in the Philippines and Dunkin’ Donuts in select territories in China), and a 60% ownership in the SuperFoods Group that owns the Highlands Coffee and PHO24 brands.
JFC also has investments in Titan Dining LP, the ultimate holding entity of Tim Ho Wan Pte. Ltd. (the Master Franchisee of Tim Ho Wan in the Asia Pacific region excluding Hong Kong) and recently, it entered into a business venture with award-winning Chef Rick Bayless to build a Mexican fast-casual restaurant business in the United States. JFC will also bring Panda Express restaurants to the Philippines through a 50/50 joint venture between JFC and the Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., America’s largest family-owned and operated Chinese American restaurant concept.
In the Philippines, JFC operates more than 3,100 stores under the Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, Red Ribbon, Mang Inasal, Burger King, Highlands Coffee, and PHO24 brands. Its flagship brand Jollibee operates in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Its Chowking brand has a presence in the Middle East and the United States, while its Red Ribbon brand also has stores in the US. The Jollibee brand entered four new countries in 2018: Italy (Milan), its very first store in Europe; Macau; United Kingdom (London); and Malaysia. This year, Jollibee opened a store in Guam. JFC has grown brands that bring delightful dining experience to its customers worldwide, in line with its mission of serving great tasting food and bringing the joy of eating to everyone.
Mr. Tanmantiong has been actively involved in the management and operation of the business since its inception in 1978. He formally started as store manager, moving up the ladder and delivering broad and exceptional contributions across various roles. In 2011, he was appointed as COO of JFC, and CEO in 2014.
Mr. Tanmantiong is a member of the World Presidents Organization, Makati Business Club and Management Association of the Philippines. He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Ateneo de Manila University and is a member of the Jollibee Group Foundation Board of Trustees. He has a BS degree in Business Management from the Ateneo de Manila University. He completed the Harvard Business School OPM Key Executive Program in 2000 and the HBS Advanced Management Program in 2013. He is happily married and has 3 grown children.
