As Industry lead for Microsoft Middle East and Africa, Ramy Fares’ responsibilities span across one of the most vibrant and diverse regions in the company.  His role is to lead Microsoft’s industry focus, across those sectors, covering 79 countries, to enable companies realizing the value of our technology stack to drive economical value through digital Transformation in the MEA region.

At his current jobs he supported and enabled large Retailer through their DT Journey, in UAE, South Africa, KSA, Turkey & Gulf, helping organizations through their business transformation to deliver a differentiated user experience, boosting their E-commerce & in-Store revenues.

His previous role began in Jan 2013 as the Aviation Industry Lead of Microsoft Gulf.  Through his tenure, Microsoft Gulf Enabled DT at the key carriers of Middle East, such As Emirates, Etihad and Saudi Airlines.

His knowledge and understanding of the Aviation industry and the power of disruptive technology to enable the airlines to create business competitive advantage.  He has focused on creating value for airlines through the power of Microsoft platform coupled with our extended partner ecosystem, which has helped solve the most fundamental operations and commercial problems for carriers, to further engage customer and optimize operations.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Fares worked as a Head of Sales for Convergys in the MENA, before that role, he was the Global Account Director for Ooredoo at Ericsson coming from Oracle & Vodafone.

Fares received a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Cairo University. In 2012 he concluded his MBA at London Business School.

During his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family while his hobbies include art collection, reading and football.
